Keys to a Successful Transition from High School to College
Up to 40% of students from low income communities who graduate from high school and are accepted at college do not attend. Don’t let that be you!
- Complete paperwork and make payments on time. The first big challenges are completing required paperwork and making the required tuition payment on time. Keep a calendar of important dates and plan accordingly.
- Time management. Once classes begin time management is a challenge for most students. Classes are not always consecutive, some are scheduled in the morning and then others late afternoon and evening. Developing and sticking to a schedule that balances class time, study time and personal time is critical. You are investing a lot of time, energy and money in going to college. - Ask for help. If you find yourself falling behind, ask for help right away. Bad news will not get better with time.
